Annual EEO Public File Report for Ocala Broadcasting Corporation, LLC
1. During the period of October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016 Ocala Broadcasting Corporation, LLC (WOGK, WNDD, WNDN) filled four full-time job vacancies:
Two sales and marketing consultants
One nontraditional revenue director position, and a
Promotions/digital director position.

2. Ocala Broadcasting Corp., LLC used the following sources to fill the nontraditional revenue director position: the EEO recruitment sources mailing list, postings to our sister stations, our stations’ websites, and local contacts.

For the open sales and marketing consultant positions: postings to our sister stations, our stations’ websites, and the EEO recruitment sources mailing list and local referrals.

For the promotions/digital director position: a review of resumes on file, and reviewing candidates at our January 2016 Job Fair.

3. Nontraditional revenue director position was created through an employee termination. The sales and marketing consultant openings were created by one termination and the elimination of one part-time sales consultant position, and replaced by a full-time position. The promotions/digital director position was created by a termination in January 2016.

4. After a review of resumes on file from the original posting of the position in 2015 for the nontraditional revenue director position, one candidate was interviewed. The candidate was a referral from an outside source. The hire was made in February 2016.

Regarding the two sales and marking consultants: after a review of resumes on file from the previous 12 months of applicants, the September 2016 hire applied after seeing our website advertisement. The July 2016 hire was an employee referral.

For the promotions/digital director position, a review of resumes on file was conducted. The new hire attended our January 2016 Job Fair in Ocala and was interviewed and hired after the event.

5. For a list and brief description of the required non-vacancy specific recruitment measures selected from the FCC’s menu that were undertaken, please refer to the narrative statement immediately following this page.

EEO Narrative

Ocala Broadcasting Corporation, LLC has been working to achieve a broad and inclusive outreach program to educate and recruit persons for future openings for WOGK FM, WNDD FM, WNDT FM, and WNDN FM. This report covers the period of October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016.

During this time Ocala Broadcasting Corporation, LLC has done the following:

We hosted two Job Fairs to recruit for ourselves and other local diverse businesses. On January 12, 2016 in Ocala at the auditorium at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion, and on May 5, 2016 at the Best Western Gateway Hotel in Gainesville. In Ocala, over 200 people attended. From those attendees, we accepted applications/resumes from seven candidates. From those seven, we hired a new Promotions/Digital Director. In Gainesville, there were over 150 attendees. At that time, we did not have any current openings, but accepted three applications/resumes.

In addition to hosting two Job Fairs, representatives from our radio stations attended three other Job Fairs.

On May 5, 2016 Sales Manager Shanna McCoy spoke with 16 candidates in Gainesville at the Career Source Job Fair.

On August 18, 2016 Sales Manager Shanna McCoy attended the Santa Fe College “Back to Work 50+” Job Fair. Over 250 people attended, and Ms. McCoy spoke with over 40 interested people.

On September 13, 2016 General Manager Jim Robertson attended the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce Career Source Job Fair at the Multipurpose Center. There were over 300 attendees. Mr. Robertson spoke with over 20 people and accepted eight resumes from qualified candidates. As of September 30, 2016 two of those candidates have had follow-up interviews (no current positions were open at the time).

In November 2015, a student from Williston (a Miss Williston) shadowed an employee. She spent time in all of the departments of the radio stations. She aspires for a career in communications.

On May 18, 2016 a tour of the radio stations was given to two groups of Cub Scouts interested in radio/media. A total of 14 people attended. The tours were hosted by an on-air personality. Time was spent in all areas of the operation (sales, programming, and office).

Ocala Broadcasting Corporation LLC (WOGK, WNDD, WNDT, WNDN) maintains an ongoing program to recruit and instruct potential future broadcasters.

In late July 2016, we posted on our websites and through social media an opening for future internship opportunities. On September 7, 2016 Melanie Davenport, a recent graduate of the University of South Florida began an internship. She has shadowed all of the department heads, attended promotion meetings, and a meeting with our visiting sales/nontraditional revenue consultant. Her internship will continue after October 1, 2016.

The stations offered online training to all its sales staff on October 8, 2015 and May 12, 2016.

The stations’ General Manager provided a tour of the station and discussed job opportunities in broadcasting with a volunteer during station WOGK’s annual charity event for cancer on February 10, 2016.
