Alachua County Animal Services is at capacity and are offering free animal adoptions June 22, through Saturday, June 24, 2017. Those interested should visit the shelter headquarters (3400 N.E. 53rd Avenue, Gainesville), from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Pet adopters and fosters must be 18 or older and show ID with proof of current address. If there are already pets in the home, the potential adopter must show proof that owned animals have current rabies vaccinations and are licensed. All cats and dogs available for adoption are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter.
The shelter also has several kittens that are not old enough for adoption but could be placed in a foster-to-adopt scenario.
