The Ocala Jaycees' annual haunted house will be returning to Marion County each weekend from October 2nd - October 31st. This year the event will take place at Wild Waters Water Park (Silver Springs State Park 5656 East Silver Springs Blvd., Silver Springs, FL, 34488).
The event will be staged every Friday and Saturday night during the month of October. Gates will open at 6:30 PM, and the last entry will be admitted at 10 PM. The price of admission is $12 for adults and $8 for children 10 and under (children under 14 years old will not be admitted without an adult). The event will include multiple scare zones, a creepy arcade, food, refreshments, beer, mixed drinks and a scary good time!
The haunted house event will offer plenty of spooky actives and events, however the park’s water slides and wave pool will not be open for use until the park reopens for the season in spring 2016. For more information and event details please visit www.silversprings.com.

ALL SAINTS’ DAY CEMETERY TOUR- The Second Annual All Saints’ Day Cemetery Tour is Saturday, October 31st from 12 pm to 3 pm
at the Historic Kanapaha Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Admission is $5 per person. Children under 12 are free. Cash or check, at the gate. 4101 SW. 63rd Blvd., Gainesville.
Meet some of Alachua County’s pioneers and prominent citizens who were laid to rest in this historic cemetery, founded in the late 1850s! Self-guided tour features first person interpretation by descendants and others! Join us at noon for the “All Saints Day” bell ringing – have the name of your loved one, who passed during the year, read and the bell rung in memory – and the dedication of “Unknown” grave markers. Emerging local artist, soprano Erica Williams, will perform at the dedication! Exhibits! Music! Refreshments!
All proceeds will benefit the preservation and maintenance of the cemetery.

The 34th Annual Downtown Festival & Art Show is quickly approaching and the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department is looking for individuals and organizations that would like to support this community event by volunteering at one of the top fine art shows in the country. This is your opportunity to mingle with nationally acclaimed artists, enjoy performing arts and sample international cuisine. This award-winning art festival features 240 of the nation’s finest artists, as well as four stages of continuous entertainment. Four-hour shifts are available Saturday, Nov. 14 or Sunday, Nov. 15 for volunteers of all ages. Volunteers can assist at the Junior Fire Fighting Challenge, booth sit for artists or help with the Children’s Imagination Station, a free, hands-on art activity area. As a token of our appreciation, volunteers will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
